Weight Management.

Making small, incremental changes to your diet and lifestyle can have a positive impact on your health.

Healthy Eating Advice

Healthy eating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be challenging. There is a wide range of (sometimes conflicting) recommendations, research studies and diet plans. To help you we have collated some useful information and website links.

We recommend you to review and reflect on your current diet, and consider small, incremental changes you could make. Making small, simple changes to what and how much you are eating and drinking can really help you lose the pounds. This approach helps you to gradually improve your diet in a way which is sustainable.

If you're overweight, losing weight has many health benefits. It might help reduce the risk of developing health conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It can have so many more benefits too, such as: improved sleep, improved digestion, increased energy levels.

Eat Well Guide

The Eatwell Guide shows how much of what we eat overall should come from each food group to achieve a healthy, balanced diet. You do not need to achieve this balance with every meal, but try to get the balance right over a day or even a week.

Consider how your diet compares to the Eat Well Guide

Ask yourself:

o   Does my day’s diet look like this? Or maybe only certain meals look like this and not my whole day.

o   Does my diet have a similar balance of the different types of foods?

o   Do I eat too much of a certain type of food?

Once you’ve identified any imbalances consider:

o   How could I change my diet?

o   What food swaps could I consider?

o   How can I make the change fit in to my routine?
